After selling his beloved Nolita restaurant, Peasant and his Venetian Wine Bar, Bacaro, Chef Frank DeCarlo was moving to the North Fork full time to work his waterfront place, Barba Bianca. But then the pandemic hit and with so much uncertainty in the world he said goodbye to Barba as well. Three years later, he realized he was not ready for retirement and found a charming space in Greenport on historical Front Street. Once again his vision is traditional Italian, this time served in a more informal setting, Salumeria by day and Osteria by night. Chef DeCarlo wants to bring the charm and intimacy of a small seaside Italian town to the North Fork.
